Composition :

C = 1,28 – 1,33 %

Mn = 0,2 – 0,4 %,

Si ≤ 0,3 %

P ≤ 0,01 %

S ≤ 0,01 %

Cr = 1,0 %

Mo = 0,3 %

V = 0,2 %

W = 1,3 %

Fe = balance

 

Heat treatment:

Forging 1050 – 800° C

Normalization 840 – 860° C

Soft annealing 720° C, 15 minutes, oven cooling

Austenisation 810 – 830° C

Holding time after heated to core 5 minutes

Quench in preheated medium oil

Tempering 2 x 1 hour in oven at 180° C or more

 

820°/200° C will result in 63-64 HRc approx.
