the San mai indication on MvH Damast means it has a centered core wich does the cutting and can be cladded ranging from Wrought-iron to Mosaic paterns and monosteel cores can be replaced with Laminated edge steel .the standard is a allignt core wich will have no sudden rises and is not more then a third of the billets thickness, when you desire a more irregular core try the Tags Ladder paterned or forging here it is allready distorted or you can distort it yourself by grinding grooves allong the edge and then forge bevels youself.
